German asset manager Aream Advisory has acquired 100% of GME Ventures, adding a pipeline of around 500 megawatts-peak of ground-mounted solar projects as it seeks to accelerate renewable energy development for institutional investors, the company said.
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Aream said the acquisition will bolster its in-house project development capabilities and speed up delivery of the newly acquired solar pipeline, which it expects to deploy increasingly alongside battery storage systems.
The GME Ventures team brings experience across the photovoltaic development value chain, including technology, contracting, urban land-use planning and asset structuring, Aream added.
“The acquisition will enable us to grow faster and, thanks to the acquired project pipeline, increase the potential of future renewable energy plants, especially in combination with battery storage systems, for our institutional investors,” said Markus Voigt, chief executive of the Aream Group.
“If further opportunities for external growth arise, we will also take advantage of them,” he added.
Christian Schnaidt, Fabian Pramel and Jörn Preuth, managing directors of Aream Advisory GmbH, together with Falko Krause and Michael Reck from GME Ventures AG, will oversee the integration of the business into the Aream Group.
