Indian wind turbine manufacturer Suzlon has appointed Paulo Fernando Soares as president for Europe, tasking him with leading the company’s next phase of growth in the region, the group said.
Suzlon said Soares will oversee its European operations, with responsibility for building regional capabilities, developing partnerships and strengthening engagement with customers across the market.
His role will also include establishing an organisational framework to support Suzlon’s long-term strategy in Europe, the company added.
“We are happy to welcome Paulo back as Suzlon accelerates its global ambitions. With Europe being one of the largest wind energy markets, it represents a strategic growth opportunity for us,” Girish Tanti, vice chairman of the Suzlon Group, said in a statement.
Tanti said Soares’ experience would support the company’s international expansion. “Paulo’s deep knowledge of wind technology, customers, and first-hand experience across multiple global markets will help our global growth strategy immensely,” he added.
Soares said he was looking forward to returning to the company. “I am excited to rejoin Suzlon and collaborate with its global and Indian leadership teams once again,” he said.
“Suzlon has a strong track record, reliable world-class technology, and international market experience, which will help us to expand its market share further,” Soares added.
