Group, India's foremost provider of solutions, has recently secured a substantial order for its highly acclaimed 3 MW series of wind turbines from . Serentica Renewables is a platform dedicated to decarbonization, aiming to expedite the energy transition within energy-intensive industries. This order signifies an important step towards achieving India's net-zero ambitions.

Under this agreement, Suzlon will be responsible for the installation of 68 generators (WTGs) featuring a (HLT) tower and a rated capacity of 3 MW each. These turbines will be deployed for Serentica's ambitious 204 MW wind power project set to be located in Koppal, Karnataka. The project is anticipated to be operational by early 2024.

Remarkably, this is the fifth order for Suzlon's 3 MW series within a span of less than a month. In addition to supplying the wind turbines and overseeing the project's execution, including erection and commissioning, Suzlon will also provide comprehensive operation and maintenance services following the commissioning phase.

Girish Tanti, Vice Chairman of Suzlon Group, expressed his delight in partnering with corporate entities in India as they embark on their energy transition journey, buoyed by a conducive policy environment. This order from Serentica Renewables, focused on industrial decarbonization, showcases the commitment of Indian businesses to the nation's net-zero goals. Suzlon's 3 MW series is an evolved version of their proven technology, meticulously tailored for India's unique wind conditions. This cutting-edge technology will play a pivotal role in accelerating the pace of wind energy installations in India, furthering the sustainable growth of the country. Suzlon remains dedicated to fostering an “Aatmanirbhar Bharat” (self-reliant India) and creating a better world for future generations.

Pratik Agarwal, Director of Serentica Renewables, regarded the partnership with Suzlon for their renewable energy project in Karnataka as a significant milestone in their journey towards industrial decarbonization. The clean energy generated by this wind park will not only provide reliable and high-quality green power to industrial customers but also contribute substantially to India's overarching energy transition goal of achieving 500 GW by 2030.

JP Chalasani, CEO of Suzlon Group, expressed his happiness in announcing the first order from Serentica Renewables. This order is a testament to the trust that Suzlon's customers have in their expertise and the exceptional quality of their 3 MW series of products. It holds significant value for Suzlon, especially considering that the electricity generated will be utilized to power India's industrial powerhouses. Suzlon remains committed to serving Indian industries with green renewable power, catalyzing the nation's economic growth while fulfilling their net-zero targets.

The Suzlon 3 MW Series stands as a testament to Suzlon Group's position as the leading provider of renewable energy solutions in India. This series of wind turbines, with its primary focus on increasing generation, reducing energy costs, and contributing to a self-reliant India, represents a remarkable milestone for both the company and the country's wind energy sector.

Suzlon's 3 MW turbines boast a large 144-meter rotor diameter and are ingeniously designed to harness energy efficiently even in low wind sites, thereby enhancing energy yields across various wind regimes prevalent in India. With local content accounting for an impressive 85-90% upon its serial launch, this series showcases Suzlon's commitment to innovation and self-sufficiency.

The S144 wind turbine generator, a part of this series, is one of India's largest and can be extended up to 3.15 MW, depending on site-specific wind conditions. It is available with a hub height of 140 meters, which can be elevated to 160 meters upon its serial launch. This increase in hub height will make the S144 the tallest wind turbine in India. Moreover, Suzlon's S144 fleet is expected to generate an astounding 40-43% more energy compared to their current model, the S120 – a 2.1 MW wind turbine. This remarkable feat highlights their ability to optimize wind resources at higher altitudes, making previously unviable low-wind sites capable of harnessing wind energy.

Additionally, the 3 MW turbine generators incorporate the well-tested Doubly Fed Induction Generator (DFIG) technology and the SB 70.5 carbon fiber blade, both developed and engineered by Suzlon. These world-class technologies enable the utilization of thinner aerodynamic profiles, resulting in exceptional performance in low-wind sites and a substantial increase in energy generation per unit of land.

Suzlon's leadership in the renewable energy sector is further emphasized by their 3 MW series of wind turbines, a testament to their dedication to delivering sustainable and cost-effective solutions for the future of renewable energy. It is with great confidence that Suzlon believes the 3 MW – S144 technology will play a significant role in accomplishing the country's renewable energy and net-zero targets.
