Renewable energy developer European Energy has won its first contracts-for-difference (CfDs) in France, securing support for two agrivoltaic solar parks in Saint-Voir, the company said.
The contracts, awarded by France’s energy regulatory commission (CRE), cover a combined installed capacity of 15 megawatts for the Les Mathiaux and La Forge projects. European Energy said both projects have been under development since 2021 and are designed in line with France’s agrivoltaic regulatory framework.
“The selection of the Saint-Voir projects by the CRE confirms the company’s ability to develop projects that comply with national regulations while creating tangible value to local agricultural activities, while fully integrating environmental considerations,” said Nicolas König, vice president and country manager for France at European Energy.
Construction and commissioning of the two projects are scheduled for 2027, the company said.
European Energy said France remains a strategic market as it expands its portfolio. “France represents a key market for European Energy, with a development pipeline that continues to expand across multiple technologies,” said Thorvald Spanggaard, executive vice president and head of project development.
The company said it is currently developing more than 1 gigawatt of renewable energy projects in France across several technologies.
