German renewable energy company Encavis has acquired the 34-megawatt Bebensee onshore wind farm from PNE Group in the state of Schleswig-Holstein, the company said.
The project is located about 45 km northeast of Hamburg and has been in operation for around two months. Encavis said that technical and commercial management of the wind farm will be handled by energy consult GmbH, a subsidiary of PNE.
“With the acquisition of the Bebensee wind farm, we are continuing our successful cooperation with PNE and increasing our wind portfolio in Germany to around 770 MW,” Encavis Chief Executive Mario Schirru said.
PNE said the transaction reflects its approach as a developer. “With this sale, we once again demonstrate our flexibility as a project developer, bringing projects to market at any stage of development to suit our customers,” said Roland Stanze, chief operating officer of PNE AG.
The Bebensee wind farm consists of five Nordex N163 turbines, each with a capacity of 6.8 MW. The companies said the project’s expected annual electricity output will be sufficient to supply around 33,000 households, with revenues supported by a 20-year feed-in tariff under Germany’s Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG).
Encavis said the acquisition follows its purchase of the 34-megawatt Sundern-Allendorf wind farm from PNE four months ago, in which energy consult GmbH also assumed responsibility for operational management.
