Mainstream Renewable Power said its chief executive Morten Henriksen will step down from his role to pursue other opportunities, with the board appointing Julie Berg as group chief executive from January 2026.
Berg joined Mainstream in 2024 as chief financial officer and has led a strategic transformation of the business, including the relocation of its headquarters from Dublin to Oslo in 2025, the company said.
“The board said Julie Berg will become group chief executive in January 2026,” Mainstream said in a statement.
Before joining Mainstream, Berg served as chief financial officer at Aker Carbon Capture and previously worked as a partner at professional services firm KPMG, according to the company.
Mainstream said Berg’s experience and familiarity with the business would support the completion of its optimisation programme and underpin future growth.
Founded in 2008, Mainstream develops utility-scale wind and solar projects in markets including Chile and South Africa. The company said Aker Horizons became its majority owner in 2021, while Japan’s Mitsui joined as a strategic investor a year later.
Mainstream added that it has brought 6.6 gigawatts of wind and solar projects to financial close-ready status.
