DEME has secured three contracts to deliver major installation works for Ocean Winds’ BC-Wind offshore wind farm in Polish waters, the Belgian contractor said on Thursday.
The scope of work covers the installation of monopile foundations, inter-array cables and the export cable for the 390-megawatt project in the Baltic Sea. DEME said its vessels Orion, Living Stone and Viking Neptun will undertake the operations.
Orion is scheduled to install 27 monopile foundations — 26 for turbines and one for the offshore substation — while the inter-array and export cable packages will span engineering, manufacturing support and installation. The export cable will be installed under a consortium agreement with Hellenic Cables.
Installation activities are planned for 2027 and 2028.
