Potentia Energy has obtained AUD 830 million in financing to advance a 600-megawatt portfolio of wind, solar and hydro projects across Australia, the company said on Tuesday.
The capacity is distributed across six projects. The debt package is being provided by seven Australian and international lenders: Bank of China, BNP Paribas, The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited, Mizuho Bank, Société Générale, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation and Westpac Banking Corporation.
Potentia Energy said the transaction strengthens its position as a long-term owner and operator of clean energy assets and broadens its funding base as it expands its national portfolio. The company described the deal as an important step following its recent rebranding and shift toward a locally focused clean energy platform.
In a statement, the company said the financing marks “a significant milestone in the company’s evolution” after its transition to a dedicated Australian renewables business.
