ABL said it has been appointed to deliver marine warranty survey (MWS) services for the construction of the 390-megawatt BC-Wind offshore wind farm in Poland, supporting developer Ocean Winds.
The company’s scope includes MWS oversight for the transportation and installation of all major components, including turbines, inter-array cables, monopile foundations, transition pieces, the export cable and the offshore substation. ABL will also conduct vessel suitability surveys, review technical documentation during development and construction phases, and provide on-site surveillance of marine operations from 2026 to 2028.
“The BC-Wind project represents a significant step in Poland’s renewable energy development,” said Will Philbedge, operations manager for ABL Germany. “Following ABL’s appointment to support the country’s Baltica-2 offshore windfarm, we are thrilled to have the opportunity to contribute to the delivery of another critical energy infrastructure project, and expand ABL’s presence in Poland.”
ABL Germany will lead the contract, supported by the company’s local and regional renewables teams, including staff based in Gdansk and Warsaw.
According to ABL, the BC-Wind project will deploy 26 Siemens Gamesa SG 14-236 turbines across a 90-square-kilometre site in the Baltic Sea, located roughly 23 kilometres north of Poland’s Pomeranian Province.
