Exus Renewables said it has agreed to acquire a 69-megawatt wind portfolio consisting of four development-stage projects in Germany’s North Rhine–Westphalia region from Deutsche WindXperts, marking an expansion of its presence in European energy markets.
The company said the portfolio offers “potential for capacity expansion” and fits with its strategy to broaden its asset base across key regions. Construction is planned to begin in 2026, with commercial operations expected in 2028.
The acquisition comes as Exus forms a permanent team in Germany, led by newly appointed country manager Martin Amelang.
“This project marks a pivotal moment for Exus as we establish our investment footprint in Germany, the largest energy market in Europe,” said Aygen Yayıkoglu, chief business development officer at Exus Renewables.
Deutsche WindXperts co-founder Lars Behrends said the company welcomed the transaction. “We are very pleased to reach a successful sale of our wind portfolio, and look forward to continuing our excellent collaboration with Exus on the construction of the Westphalia portfolio as well as other opportunities,” he said.
