Alight on Thursday officially inaugurated the 215-megawatt Lidso solar farm in the Lolland municipality of Denmark, the company said.
The project, developed by European Energy and later divested to Alight, was built over one year and connected to the grid this autumn. It will supply two offtakers under long-term power purchase agreements.
“Lidso will be an important part of Denmark’s energy transition and is proof that solar power can contribute on a large scale,” Alight Chief Executive Warren Campbell said. “Thanks to long-term partnerships, we can deliver new additional, sustainable capacity to the Danish grid, while strengthening our position in the Nordic market.”
Jen-Peter Zink, deputy CEO at European Energy, added: “Completion and inauguration of Lidso solar park mark the transition from development to full operation. The project has been delivered as planned and now contributes to renewable electricity generation in Denmark.”
The solar farm is expected to support Denmark’s broader renewable energy goals and expand Alight’s footprint in the Nordic market.
