Construction has begun at the 20-megawatt Klotze Solar Park in the eastern German state of Saxony-Anhalt, marking R.Power’s first utility-scale photovoltaic development in the country.
The company said the project is supported by a 20-year contract awarded under Germany’s EEG auction system. It forms part of a wider national portfolio, which includes more than 115 MW of solar capacity recently secured in the German Innovation Auction organised by the Bundesnetzagentur.
“Germany is a strategically vital market for R.Power, and the start of construction at Klotze Solar Park is a milestone for our company,” CEO and co-founder Przemek Pięta said. He added that the project follows the company’s recent auction success, “where we secured 115.5 MW of capacity for new PV projects integrating innovative elements such as storage and hybrid configurations.”
R.Power said the Klotze installation is expected to supply clean electricity to thousands of households once operational. The company also noted that the development aligns with its strategy of combining photovoltaic generation with battery energy storage to increase system flexibility and support long-term value creation.
