Zephyr Renewable said it has agreed to acquire a portfolio of Swedish offshore wind development projects from Statkraft, expanding its footprint in one of Europe’s emerging wind power regions.
The portfolio includes assets in the Bothnia Offshore Sigma and Lambda North areas in the Bothnian Sea, the company said. Permit applications for the projects have already been filed and are currently being reviewed by regional authorities.
Zephyr said the transaction, which remains subject to regulatory approvals, would position the company as the holder of the largest offshore wind development portfolio in Sweden.
Simon Landqvist, Zephyr’s offshore wind project development manager, said the company sees strong potential in the assets. “We at Zephyr are very pleased with this acquisition,” he said. “The portfolio has great potential and the expertise that Zephyr possesses in offshore wind power will now come in handy in the continued development of the projects.”
Statkraft did not immediately comment on the valuation or expected timeline for completion.
