OnPath Energy has appointed Jules Rankin-Perez as head of construction, the company said, adding that she will be responsible for managing construction performance across its UK projects with support from safety, engineering and financial teams.
The developer said Rankin-Perez brings nearly 17 years of experience in the renewable energy sector, including work on two of OnPath’s Scottish onshore wind farms.
Born in South Africa, Rankin-Perez moved to the UK in 1999 and later earned a degree in product design engineering from Edinburgh Napier University. After securing a scholarship during her studies, she joined Johnson & Johnson, where she worked for six years before shifting toward the energy sector.
She later completed a master’s degree in energy engineering at Heriot-Watt University and joined turbine manufacturer Senvion, spending more than a decade at the company and rising to construction team leader. Subsequent roles included consultancy work at Green Cat Renewables on onshore wind, hydro, hydrogen, gas peaker and combined heat and power projects, followed by a focus on green hydrogen development at Protium.
Rankin-Perez said her goal is to support smooth project delivery. “OnPath Energy has a strong portfolio of future projects and my aim is to use my experience to help bring them through construction and handed over to operations as smoothly and efficiently as possible,” she said. She added: “Having previously worked with members of the team, I knew that OnPath’s culture, ethos and ways of working fit well with my own.”
She said it was “refreshing to be part of a business that has such a strong, clear focus on its future direction,” adding that “with a lot of new projects about to come forward, it’s an exciting time to be joining.”
OnPath Energy said it operates 12 onshore wind farms in Scotland and England. Construction is currently under way at three green energy generation sites, with several additional projects expected to advance in the next 12 months.
Construction director Martin Kellerman said the company was confident in its choice. “Jules’ personal and professional qualities were well known to us, with her breadth of green energy industry experience being exactly what we required for this role, and we’re very pleased to be able to bring her into our growing team,” he said.
