Nordex has secured a 21-megawatt order from BMR energy solutions to supply and install wind turbines for the Heinsberg-Boverath project in North Rhine-Westphalia, the company said on Thursday.
The German manufacturer will deliver three N163/6.X turbines under a contract that also includes a 20-year service agreement.
The deal adds to what Nordex described as an active year of procurement by the Geilenkirchen-based developer. BMR has already ordered 88.8 MW of turbines from Nordex in 2025 for projects in Geilenkirchen and the Rhenish mining district.
Nordex said the installations in the mining region will carry symbolic significance as the area transitions away from coal. “The turbines in the Rhenish mining district will symbolize the successful structural transformation in the region, which is undergoing an ecological transition due to the planned phase-out of coal-fired power generation in the coming years,” the company said.
Turbine installation for the Heinsberg-Boverath project is scheduled for 2026 and 2027.
