Neoen has agreed to sell a 760-megawatt portion of its operating assets in France to Plenitude, the companies said, marking one of the year’s larger renewables transactions in the country.
The portfolio includes 52 facilities — 37 solar farms, 14 onshore wind projects and one battery storage site. Neoen said it will continue to manage the assets for several years under an agreement with Plenitude.
Once the transaction is completed, the company expects to retain 1.1 gigawatts of capacity in operation or under construction across France, spanning 754 MW of solar, 307 MW of wind and 115 MW/213 MWh of storage. The company also noted it will continue to develop new projects as part of its French pipeline.
Neoen said the divestment is consistent with its strategy of “regularly and selectively” selling assets to reinvest capital into new developments.
Completion of the transaction is expected by year end, subject to regulatory approval.
Plenitude CEO Stefano Goberti said the deal expands the company’s presence in France, adding: “The acquisition expands our presence in France, where we already serve around 1 million retail customers and where we are growing in both energy solutions and e-mobility markets.” He said the move supports the company’s integrated business model and progress toward its strategic goals.
Guillaume Decaen, regional CEO of Neoen France, described the sale as a recognition of the company’s capability across the project lifecycle. “This transaction is a recognition of Neoen’s end-to-end expertise in developing, building and operating quality assets,” he said. He added that Neoen remains committed to accelerating the country’s energy transition.
Neoen group CEO Xavier Barbaro praised the company’s team for the execution of the agreement, saying: “Through capturing and reinvesting the value of our top-quality assets, we are able to accelerate our pace of growth.”
