The first three 15-megawatt turbines equipped with nacelles produced at Vestas’ new plant in Szczecin have been installed at the Baltic Power offshore wind farm, developers Northland Power and Orlen said on Monday.
The companies said the installation marks a key step for Poland’s emerging offshore wind supply chain, as several of the project’s 76 nacelles will be assembled at the West Pomeranian facility. They described the delivery as “a pivotal moment for Poland’s emerging offshore wind supply chain,” according to the original statement.
The V236-15.0 units are the first commercial nacelles to leave the Polish factory, where Vestas is recruiting more than 600 employees. The nacelles contain core generating systems in a structure roughly the size of a three-storey building, alongside external components including the hub, lightning protection and cooling systems.
Additional nacelles for the project will be supplied from Vestas’ Lindo facility in Denmark.
Turbine installation at Baltic Power began in July 2025, led by a Cadeler O-class jack-up vessel and supported by multiple crew transfer vessels and service operation vessels.
