Nordex Group has received three new wind turbine orders from long-term partner DenkerWulf, totalling 123 megawatts, for projects in northern Germany’s Schleswig-Holstein region, the company said on Tuesday.
The orders cover a total of 25 turbines across three wind farms: three N149/5.X units for the Galmsbüll Bahrenhof project, 18 N133/4800 machines for the Galmsbüll Park site, and four N133/4800 turbines for the Padenstedt wind farm.
Installation is scheduled to begin in 2027, with commissioning planned for 2028. Nordex will provide long-term operational support under a 20-year premium service contract.
The hub heights for the turbines at Galmsbüll, near the North Sea coast, will range between 105 and 110 metres, while those at the inland Padenstedt site will vary from 110 to 125 metres.
Denker & Wulf’s head of wind turbine procurement and site manager Rostock, Thomas Behrendt, said the new orders highlight the companies’ enduring collaboration. “Our renewed strong commitment underscores the close and flexible partnership with Nordex,” Behrendt said. “We are especially pleased that we have successfully completed the repowering in Galmsbüll—a location with very strong wind conditions—together with the community wind farm.”
He added: “Thanks to the high speed of project implementation, we recently surpassed the milestone of 500MW of commissioning in Germany with Nordex. Despite challenging conditions, we look forward to continuing this successful partnership. Together, we will continue to realise innovative projects and advance the energy transition.”
Karsten Brüggemann, vice president region central at Nordex Group, said the contracts demonstrate the strength of the partnership and Nordex’s position in the German market. “We are pleased to have received further orders from DenkerWulf,” Brüggemann said. “With nearly 144MW of new orders this year, Galmsbüll, with its 18 turbines, is also one of our largest projects in Germany.”
He added that the N133/4800 models are designed for optimal performance in areas with strong wind conditions. “By deploying Nordex turbines in these new projects, we are supporting DenkerWulf in the sustainable production and supply of electricity in northern Germany,” Brüggemann said. “The N133/4800 turbines are specifically designed for regions with similarly strong wind conditions and can optimally utilise the local wind resources in northern Germany even with lower hub heights.”
Nordex said the latest orders build on its long-term cooperation with DenkerWulf and reinforce its role in advancing Germany’s onshore wind capacity expansion.
