German-Spanish wind turbine manufacturer Nordex Group said on Thursday it has received an order from German utility EnBW for a 68-megawatt (MW) onshore wind project in Lower Saxony, expanding the companies’ long-term cooperation.
The order covers the delivery and installation of ten N175/6.X turbines for the Derental-Lauenforde wind farm, along with servicing of the machines, Nordex said in a statement. The turbines will be mounted on concrete hybrid towers with a hub height of 179 metres.
Installation at the site is scheduled to begin in April 2027, with final commissioning of the last turbine planned for September 2027, according to the company.
Nordex said the contract is part of an extended framework agreement with EnBW that was renewed in the summer of 2025.
“For the Derental-Lauenforde wind farm, EnBW has chosen our advanced N175/6.X turbines for the first time. We appreciate this opportunity very much,” Nordex Chief Executive José Luis Blanco said. He added that the turbines “are specifically designed for locations with lower wind speeds and, with a hub height of 179 metres, ensure very high yields.”
Peter Heydecker, EnBW’s chief operating officer for sustainable generation infrastructure, said the two companies have worked together on “numerous projects” and intend to deepen that partnership. “With the current acceleration of approvals, there is also a growing demand for turbines to successfully advance the energy transition,” he added.
