DP Energy has announced the promotion of Adam Cronin to the position of chief operating officer. In his new role, Cronin will oversee the operational and service delivery aspects of the company's global portfolio of onshore and offshore renewable energy projects.
Cronin joined DP Energy in 2021 as the offshore technical and engineering manager, where he successfully led the technical and engineering teams in the execution and advancement of various offshore wind energy initiatives in Ireland and abroad. Recognizing his expertise and contributions, he was later appointed as the head of offshore in August 2021, continuing to spearhead the planning and development of offshore renewable projects.
DP Energy's CEO, Simon De Pietro, expressed his excitement about Cronin's promotion, stating, “Myself and the DP Energy team are thrilled to congratulate Adam on his appointment as chief operating officer. Adam's deep commitment to renewable energy and his dedication to employing sustainable approaches in our offshore projects make him an ideal fit for this role. We are confident that Adam will lead and support our team in the development of Irish and international renewable energy initiatives that will make a significant contribution to combating climate change.”
This senior appointment aligns with DP Energy's growth strategy, which entails expanding into new markets and embracing emerging renewable energy generation and storage technologies in the coming years. The company has an impressive track record, having already developed over 1GW of capacity, most of which are currently operational. Furthermore, DP Energy has a robust pipeline of over 7GW of onshore and offshore wind and solar projects across Ireland, the UK, Australia, and Canada.
