Spanish engineering company Ingeteam will supply 100 megawatts (MWac) of solar power and 100MW of battery energy storage systems for European Energy Australia’s Winton North hybrid project, located northeast of Victoria, the company said on Thursday.
Once operational in 2027, the installation is expected to generate about 227 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of clean energy annually across a 256-hectare site, according to Ingeteam.
The company said it will deliver its Plug-and-Play medium-voltage power stations, integrating inverters, low- and medium-voltage transformers, switchgear, and auxiliary service panels for the project.
“Ingeteam has been present in North Wollongong since 2010 and has a solar market share of around 25% in the country,” the company said in a statement.
Jorge Guillen, Head of Sales for the photovoltaic and storage business at Ingeteam Australia, said: “We are delighted to once again be able to provide our expertise and technology in power and control electronics to further contribute to Australia’s energy transition.”
The Winton North project forms part of Australia’s broader push to expand renewable energy capacity and integrate large-scale storage to stabilize the national grid.
