Copenhagen Offshore Partners (COP) has appointed Joris Hol to lead the development of four offshore wind projects in South Korea, as the company expands its renewable energy presence in Asia.
Hol will serve as project chief executive for Haesong 1 and 3, and as project chief operations officer for Jeonnam 2 and 3. In these roles, he will oversee local project teams and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure safe and sustainable project delivery, COP said in a statement.
Hol brings 14 years of experience in offshore wind project development and construction. He previously served as senior vice president at COP and project chief executive of the Zhong Neng and Fengmiao 1 offshore wind projects in Taiwan. Under his leadership, Zhong Neng entered commercial operations in May 2025, while Fengmiao 1 reached financial close in March 2025.
“I am incredibly proud to join our exceptional team in Korea to advance the Haesong 1 and 3 and Jeonnam 2 and 3 projects,” Hol said.
“Together with our partners, we are committed to collaborating with the Korean government and local stakeholders to build a more sustainable environment for all.”
COP Korea chief executive Jonathan Spink welcomed the appointment, highlighting Hol’s regional expertise.
“Joris has exceptional experience leading projects under development and construction in Taiwan and we are fortunate to have him join and lead four of our projects in the Jeonnam province,” Spink said. “We look forward to advancing our portfolio in Korea… and supporting Korea’s ambitious net zero targets.”
COP is currently leading development of a 5-gigawatt offshore wind pipeline in South Korea, including projects in the Shinan, Ulsan, and Taean regions. The portfolio includes Jeonnam 1, 2 and 3, Haesong 1 and 3, Haegeum 1 and 2, and Taean Wind Power.
Copenhagen Offshore Partners is the exclusive offshore wind development partner to Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP).
