Peterson Energy Logistics has opened a new logistics base in IJmuiden, the Netherlands, as part of its strategy to expand service offerings in the Southern North Sea region, the company said this week.
The move follows the acquisition of assets from Ymond Offshore Logistics B.V., including three warehouses strategically located to support offshore energy operations. The expansion strengthens Peterson’s position as a supply chain partner for the Dutch offshore energy sector, particularly in offshore wind.
“The strategic positioning of these facilities in IJmuiden enables us to serve our customers more closely and efficiently, including supporting offshore wind operations and maintenance bases for offshore wind customers in the area,” said Mark Hol, Head of Commercial Netherlands at Peterson. “IJmuiden is a welcome addition to our presence at a broad network of ports in the Netherlands and UK servicing offshore operations in the North Sea and further allows us to tailor the most effective end-to-end logistics solutions for our customers.”
The facility, launched officially on 1 October, includes two warehouses located directly at the quayside, allowing for immediate proximity to vessel operations. A third warehouse, described as a shore base, offers a large yard and indoor storage suited to large equipment mobilisations and long-term storage needs.
Services provided from the new base include port and ship agency support, customs clearance, stevedoring with in-house equipment, vessel chartering, campaign support for crew transfer vessels (CTVs), and a range of logistics and storage services.
Peterson operates across a network of ports in the UK and Netherlands, providing integrated logistics solutions to the offshore energy industry.
