German wind turbine manufacturer Nordex has received a 90-megawatt (MW) order for its Delta4000 series turbines for a new wind energy project in Turkey, the company said on Wednesday.
The R24-Gürün wind farm, located north of the Gürün district in Sivas province, will be developed by ADY Akdeniz Rüzgar Enerjisi Üretim A.Ş., marking the Turkish company’s first entry into the wind energy sector.
Under the contract, Nordex will deliver and install 14 of its N163/6.X turbines. The turbines will be mounted on tubular steel towers with a hub height of 113 metres. The company said the machines will be supplied in a cold climate version to meet site-specific conditions.
“We are proud to announce this first order from ADY Akdeniz Rüzgar Enerjisi Üretim A.Ş.,” said Ender Ozatay, vice president for Türkiye and the Middle East at Nordex. “It highlights Nordex Group’s continued expansion in Türkiye and our dedication to supporting new players in the renewable energy sector with our technology.”
The project is part of Nordex’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its presence in Turkey, a key growth market for wind energy in the region.
