Vestas has secured firm orders totaling 585 megawatts (MW) across 13 wind farms in Germany, Denmark, and the United Kingdom as part of its third-quarter 2025 intake, the company said on Tuesday.
The majority of the orders, 239 MW, come from Germany, where Vestas will supply EnVentus turbines to eight community-led projects developed by BBWind in North Rhine-Westphalia. The contracts include a mix of V172-7.2MW and V162-6.2MW machines.
Projects in the German portfolio include the 58 MW Hoetmar-Freckenhorst, 44 MW WMO Quantwick West und Ost, and 36 MW Borken Weseke Ost wind farms. Other developments include Velen Dorenfeld (29 MW), Sendenhorst Elmenhorst and Oelde Wibberich (22 MW each), Energiepark Beckum (22 MW), and Dorsten Hilgenböcken (7 MW).
Deliveries for these projects are expected to begin in late 2026, with commissioning set to continue through 2027. All projects are supported by long-term Active Output Management (AOM) service agreements of up to 20 years.
“We are proud to partner with BBWind in their efforts to develop community-led wind farms in one of Germany’s key regions for wind energy,” said Nils de Baar, regional president of Vestas Northern and Central Europe.
BBWind managing director Michael Schlüß added, “The EnVentus platform proves to be a strong solution for our community wind projects in North Rhine-Westphalia.”
In addition to the German orders, Vestas secured 346 MW from five other projects. These include a 109 MW cluster at Liethe, Gremsheim, and Müden for Windstrom in Germany, featuring a combination of V162-6.2MW and V150-6.0MW turbines.
Raiffeisen Windpark Saterland ordered 10 V162-7.2MW turbines totaling 72 MW for the BA 1 Repowering Ostermoor Süd site, while Eurowind Energy selected seven V162-6.2MW units for the 43 MW Hermannstein project.
In Denmark, an undisclosed customer signed for 13 V136-4.5MW turbines for a 59 MW project with deliveries planned for 2026.
Separately, Vattenfall ordered 14 V136-4.5MW turbines for the 63 MW Clashindarroch 2 wind farm in the UK, supported by a 30-year service agreement.
