ABO Energy has sold its 48-megawatt Schierenberg wind farm in Brandenburg to Encavis and entered a cooperation agreement covering four additional projects across Germany, the companies said on Monday.
The portfolio includes two wind farms in North Rhine-Westphalia, one in Rhineland-Palatinate, and one in Saarland, totaling 106.2 megawatts. All sites are under construction and expected to begin commercial operation between late 2026 and spring 2027.
Once operational, ABO Energy will handle commercial and technical management of the projects, which are projected to generate about 300,000 megawatt-hours of electricity annually — sufficient to meet the consumption of approximately 180,000 people and offset 225,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions each year.
Sebastian Sprengart, head of financing and sales at ABO Energy, said the agreement reflects a trusted partnership that “makes the complex sales process much easier and smoother.”
Encavis Chief Executive Mario Schirru added: “This new deal highlights the strategic importance of the collaboration. With 800MW of installed wind capacity in Germany, the company is sending a strong signal for the energy transition.”
ABO Energy also reported it is on track for a record year, having secured contracts for 120MW in recent Federal Network Agency tenders, with permits for 330MW granted in 2025 and applications submitted for nearly 1 gigawatt of capacity.
