Trinasolar has started construction of a 21-megawatt solar power plant in northern Spain in partnership with local developer Norsol, the company said on Monday.
Located at an elevation of over 800 metres above sea level, the site will feature 29,172 Vertex NEG21 modules and 495 Vanguard 1P trackers, specifically engineered to handle snow loads of up to 1,210 pascals, according to Trinasolar.
The company is delivering the project under a full-scope package that includes design, engineering, construction, and commissioning. It is also supplying both the modules and trackers, as well as installation services, in an effort to streamline delivery and reduce interface risk.
“By combining our Vertex modules, Vanguard trackers, and installation services, we are working to deliver a solar plant designed to operate reliably under challenging site conditions,” said Gonzalo de la Viña, president of Trinasolar Europe and Latin America & the Caribbean.
The project also includes 11 self-consumption systems equipped with batteries to supply shared energy for municipal buildings in León, supporting local energy independence and grid resilience.
Trinasolar said the development highlights its role as both a technology provider and full-scope partner, aligning with Spain’s broader renewable energy and decarbonisation goals.
