UTEC Geo-Services, a subsidiary of Acteon Group, has been awarded a contract to deliver structural monitoring services for the 1GW Baltica 2 offshore wind farm in Poland, developed jointly by Orsted and PGE.
Under the agreement, UTEC will be responsible for the design, procurement, installation, and commissioning of a comprehensive suite of measurement and data acquisition systems. The systems will monitor a range of structural and environmental factors across the site, which will feature 107 wind turbines once completed.
The scope of the monitoring campaign includes real-time data collection on environmental conditions, metocean parameters, seabed settlement, structural loads, acceleration, corrosion, and anode efficiency. Data integration will be managed via Acteon’s NX2 digital platform.
“The Baltica 2 contract is another significant testament to our capabilities to support the global offshore energy industry,” said Paul Smith, executive vice president of UTEC Geo-Services.
Systems integration and software development will be conducted at Acteon’s Technology Centre in Wokingham, UK. Installation activities are planned to take place at construction yards in Poland and other European locations.
Baltica 2 is scheduled for completion by the end of 2027 and forms part of Poland’s broader strategy to expand its offshore wind capacity in line with European energy transition targets.
