Mingyang Smart Energy has named Horatio Evers as chief executive of its European business, the Chinese wind turbine manufacturer said on Monday.
Evers previously led the global energy division at German chemical company BASF, where he was responsible for managing its renewable energy portfolio and supporting international expansion across Europe, China and the United States. He brings over two decades of experience in the energy sector, having held senior roles in Singapore, Switzerland and Germany.
Zhang Chuanwei, founder and CEO of Mingyang Smart Energy, said Evers’ background in renewables and global leadership would support the company’s ambitions in Europe. “His proven track record in renewable energy and international management experience will be instrumental in taking Ming Yang Europe to the next level,” Zhang said.
Commenting on his appointment, Evers said: “Together, we will strengthen Ming Yang’s presence in global markets and accelerate the European Net-Zero Plan and the transition to a zero-carbon future.”
Mingyang is seeking to expand its footprint in Europe as part of its broader international strategy, amid growing demand for offshore wind and clean energy technologies across the region.
