Offshore Solutions Group (OSG) has received a £500,000 investment from engineering firm Setec to advance development of its proposed Moray FLOW-Park, a floating offshore wind wet storage facility located in the Moray Firth, Scotland.

The site is intended to serve as a temporary staging area for floating wind components during the assembly, turbine integration and deployment phases. OSG stated that the project remains on track to achieve full construction permitting by 2027.

Earlier this year, the company was granted seabed exclusivity for the site by Crown Estate Scotland. It is also collaborating with Scottish Enterprise and other stakeholders to align infrastructure development with the broader ScotWind and INTOG offshore wind leasing rounds.

Will Rowley, chief executive of OSG, described the funding as a significant milestone. “This investment is a crucial enabler for delivering the FLOW-Park,” Rowley said. “As we move into site investigations later this year, additional funding will be required to maintain project momentum.”

Setec president Michel Kahan said the company welcomed the opportunity to contribute to floating wind deployment. “We are delighted to be involved in a project that will help accelerate floating wind deployment,” Kahan said.

Scottish Enterprise director for energy transition Suzanne Sosna called the investment “another positive step forward” for the initiative. “We are working with OSG to ensure that the necessary infrastructure is in place to support the growth of Scotland’s offshore wind sector,” she said.

The Moray FLOW-Park project aims to support the offshore wind supply chain and address growing logistical challenges as floating wind technology scales in the region.
