German renewable energy developer UKA has won contracts to build 104 onshore wind turbines with a combined capacity of more than 700 megawatts (MW) in the country’s latest onshore wind tender, the company said on Friday.
UKA said it was successful with all of its submissions in the August auction run by the Federal Network Agency, which awarded contracts for 376 projects totalling approximately 3.4 gigawatts (GW).
The new capacity is expected to be commissioned between 2026 and 2028. UKA said it aims to install over 1GW of onshore wind capacity in Germany in a single year for the first time in 2027.
“The result marks a major step in the delivery of our domestic pipeline,” said UKA managing partner Gernot Gauglitz. He added that the company’s total project pipeline in Germany now exceeds 9GW.
UKA develops, builds and operates wind and solar farms as well as battery storage systems, with operations across Germany, Europe and the Americas.
