DRI, the European renewables arm of Ukrainian energy company DTEK, has acquired a 112-megawatt (MW) / 448-megawatt hour (MWh) battery energy storage project in Kozienice, Poland, from Greenvolt Group, the companies said on Thursday.
The ready-to-build project comes with all required permits, approvals, and a grid connection agreement in place. Once operational, it is expected to support grid stability in Poland and, as systems become more interconnected, contribute to the resilience of Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.
The acquisition brings DRI’s total energy storage portfolio in Poland to 245MW.
“This acquisition consolidates our position in the Polish energy market,” DRI Chief Executive Murat Cinar said in a statement.
Greenvolt CEO João Manso Neto said the sale reflects the company’s focus on “delivering high-impact projects that drive the transformation of the European energy landscape.”
Beyond Poland, DRI is also developing 15 solar and wind energy projects across Croatia, Italy and Romania, as part of its regional growth strategy.
