Danish investment firm AIP Management has agreed to acquire a 49% interest in a UK-based battery energy storage portfolio totalling 700 megawatts (MW) and 2 gigawatt-hours (GWh), the company said on Wednesday. The portfolio is being developed in partnership with BW ESS, which will retain a 51% majority stake through a newly formed asset company.
