Offshore wind installation company Cadeler has signed a firm contract with Ocean Winds to install 26 Siemens Gamesa 14-megawatt turbines at the 390-megawatt BC-Wind project, located in the Polish Baltic Sea.
The agreement follows an earlier vessel reservation deal signed between the two companies and marks their first direct contractual partnership, after previous cooperation on the Moray West wind project in Scotland.
BC-Wind, situated approximately 23 kilometres off the coast of Pomerania, is Ocean Winds’ first project in Poland. Once operational, the wind farm is expected to provide electricity for nearly 500,000 households.
Turbine installation is scheduled to begin in 2028, with Cadeler deploying one of its O-class vessels from the Port of Gdańsk.
“Poland is establishing itself as a key offshore wind market in Europe, and this project will be a significant step in strengthening the country’s renewable energy ambitions,” Cadeler Chief Executive Mikkel Gleerup said in a statement.
The contract expands Cadeler’s presence in the Polish offshore wind sector, where it is also involved in the Baltic Power, Baltica 2, and Bałtyk 2 and 3 projects.
The deal supports Poland’s broader efforts to transition toward renewable energy and reduce reliance on fossil fuels, in line with European Union climate targets.
