Eurowind Energy has confirmed that nine renewable energy projects with a combined capacity of 242 megawatts (MW) are currently under construction in Germany, reinforcing the Danish company’s position in one of its key European markets.
The projects include a mix of wind and solar developments, with the largest being the 48MW Ohrenbach wind farm. The site will feature eight Vestas V162 turbines and is located in a mountainous region, requiring what the company described as “complex engineering and close collaboration.”
“We are seeing strong activity in Germany, and the market is developing satisfactorily for us,” said David Christopher Stahl, Eurowind Energy’s country manager for Germany. “Our portfolio is continuously expanding, and our operations are increasing.”
The company is also progressing a 34MW photovoltaic project in Studenitz, in addition to several other wind schemes in various stages of development. Its German portfolio includes both internally developed and acquired projects, as well as repowering initiatives—replacing older turbines with more modern and efficient models.
Stahl noted that Germany “remains a core market” for Eurowind Energy, which employs around 100 staff across six offices in Hamburg, Marburg, Leipzig, Neuruppin, Rostock and Flensburg.
The company’s total development pipeline in Germany currently stands at just under 4 gigawatts (GW), underlining its long-term commitment to expanding its footprint in one of Europe’s largest renewable energy markets.
