Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas has secured two separate orders in Argentina totalling 217 megawatts (MW), the company said on Thursday, marking a continued expansion of its presence in the South American market.
The deals form part of the company’s third-quarter intake for 2025 and include turbine supply and long-term service agreements.
For the larger of the two projects, Vestas will deliver eight V162-6.4MW turbines, with total capacity reaching 186MW. The turbines are scheduled for delivery and commissioning in 2026. The order includes a 25-year AOM 5000 (Active Output Management) service agreement, aimed at maximising energy production and reducing operational risk over the project’s lifetime.
The second order covers five V162-6.2MW turbines for a 31MW wind energy project, also located in Argentina. These turbines are expected to be delivered in 2026, with commissioning planned for 2027. Like the first project, this contract also includes a 25-year AOM 5000 service package.
Both contracts were placed by undisclosed customers.
Vestas did not disclose financial terms of the agreements.
The company continues to build on its activity in Latin America, with Argentina remaining a focus market amid growing demand for renewable energy.
