Investment firms Omnes Capital and Infranity have formed a strategic equity partnership with Power Capital Renewable Energy, Ireland’s largest independent solar power producer, to support the company’s growth and accelerate the country’s energy transition.
Power Capital currently operates 230 megawatts (MW) of solar PV capacity, with a further 330MW under construction and a development pipeline exceeding 5 gigawatts (GW) across solar and battery energy storage systems (BESS). The company develops, constructs, and operates renewable assets and has delivered close to 1GW of ready-to-build projects, backed by power purchase agreements and state-supported subsidies.
The agreement is subject to regulatory and other approvals, with completion expected by the end of September 2025.
“This landmark capital raise marks a pivotal moment for Power Capital as we accelerate the delivery of over 5GW of solar PV and BESS projects across Ireland,” said Power Capital chief executive Justin Brown. “The backing from new shareholder Infranity alongside the continued support of Omnes reflects strong confidence in our vertically integrated model and our mission to lead Ireland’s energy transition.”
Omnes, which has supported Power Capital since 2020, will remain a key shareholder. “Over the past four years, we have worked closely with the Power Capital management team to support the company’s evolution into Ireland’s leading solar IPP,” said Jean-Baptiste Delattre, director at Omnes. “We’re delighted to welcome Infranity as a strategic partner in the next phase of growth.”
Infranity’s involvement marks its first equity investment in the Irish solar sector. “We are pleased to partner with Omnes as a key shareholder of Power Capital,” said Jaime Héctor, co-head of Infranity’s equity strategy. “We look forward to contributing actively to the continued growth of Power Capital, including into BESS, helping to build a balanced portfolio across technologies.”
The partnership aims to reinforce Power Capital’s market position while contributing to Ireland’s climate targets through the deployment of clean energy infrastructure.
