Ethical Power has commissioned the 55-megawatt (MW) Fundici solar farm in the Seville region of Andalusia, Spain, marking its first completed international construction project.
The Fundici solar farm is owned by Encavis AG, which selected Ethical Power as the principal engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractor. The project was developed by Hive Energy, with Ethical Power optimising the plant design to enhance efficiency.
In addition to EPC services, Ethical Power handled extensive works to connect the solar farm to the 132-kilovolt Fundiciones Caetano substation. This included the installation of several pylons along a 9-kilometer cable route.
David Martinez, country manager at Ethical Power Spain, said: “We are delighted to confirm the successful energisation and commissioning of the Fundici solar farm. This was our first project in Spain, and the scope of work was much greater than your typical solar EPC. This achievement was possible thanks to the hard work and perseverance of our team and the excellent partnership between Ethical Power and Encavis. Fundici represents a significant step forward in Spain’s transition to a greener, more sustainable energy landscape.”
Built over 296 acres using nearly 89,000 solar modules, Fundici incorporates tracking mounts and advanced N-type modules, which are recognised for their high efficiency and durability, ensuring strong long-term performance and maximised energy output.
Ethical Power will continue its collaboration with Encavis by providing operations and maintenance services for Fundici over the next two years. The partnership also extends to solar projects in Italy, while Ethical Power Spain has an additional pipeline of 55MW of solar photovoltaic projects planned in Catalonia.
