BOS Power has entered into a supply agreement with Chinese battery manufacturer Hithium for the delivery of 3 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of battery energy storage systems (BESS) to multiple utility-scale projects across the Nordic region.
The deal spans developments in Denmark, Sweden, Finland, and Norway through 2027, with individual projects starting at 30 megawatt-hours (MWh) in capacity and scaling upwards.
As part of the agreement, Hithium will provide technical training to BOS Power and designate the company as a certified service provider. The move aims to ensure localised support and improve operational efficiency across the region’s energy storage installations.
“Partnering with BOS Power strengthens our presence in Northern Europe and supports the region’s transition to a more flexible and renewable grid,” said Kelson Li, senior director of sales at Hithium. “By combining our advanced energy storage technology with BOS Power’s expertise in large-scale energy storage and renewable integration, we are not only addressing the growing demand for local renewable energy supply and supporting the green transition – we are also shaping the future of energy innovation.”
The agreement marks a significant step for BOS Power as it expands its role in the Nordic energy sector. “This agreement highlights our commitment to delivering large-scale, high-quality energy storage systems across Northern Europe,” said Kim Strate Kiegstad, head of energy storage at BOS Power. “With Hithium’s advanced technology and our proven expertise in full EPC turnkey project execution and local integration, we are well placed to support customers in building reliable, flexible, and sustainable energy infrastructure for the future.”
The first project under the partnership is already under construction in Denmark.
