Ravensburg-based solar developer Solmotion has secured approval to build two agri-photovoltaic plants in Waldburg with a combined capacity of 18 megawatts.
The first project will cover 13 hectares in Neuwaldburg with an output of 8 MW, while the second, totaling 10 MW, will be split across 2.7 hectares near the Kalksteig roundabout and 8 hectares near Greut. Both facilities are planned with battery storage systems to support grid integration.
The company, which previously developed a 10 MW agri-PV plant in Schlier, said it has around 400 MW of projects in planning across southern Germany. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2025, with up to 100 MW expected to follow in 2026.
The projects will also offer participation opportunities for the municipality and local citizens, either through subordinated loans or by acquiring inverter shares.
