CSBC-DEME Wind Engineering (CDWE) has completed the installation of all 73 jacket foundations at the 1-gigawatt Hai Long offshore wind farm, located in the Taiwan Strait, ahead of schedule, according to project developer Northland Power.
The operation, described as the most extensive and technically demanding project undertaken by CDWE to date, was executed using the company’s heavy lift vessel Green Jade. The vessel, built in Taiwan and equipped with dynamic positioning (DP3) capabilities, set a new benchmark by installing three jackets within two days during the campaign.
“The jacket foundation installation campaign demonstrated remarkable efficiency, with a record of three jackets installed within just two days and all 73 foundations completed ahead of schedule,” said Hai Long project director and CEO Tim Kittelhake. “This milestone not only highlights the exceptional capabilities of the Green Jade but also the close partnership with the Hai Long Project Team in planning, coordination, and execution.”
The completion of this phase marks a key development milestone for the Hai Long project, which will contribute significantly to Taiwan’s renewable energy targets. It also follows the recent jacket deliveries by local fabricator Century Wind Power.
CDWE is a joint venture between Taiwan’s CSBC Corporation and Belgian offshore contractor DEME Offshore.
