Mitie Power & Grid and Elements Green have commenced construction on a £71.5 million battery energy storage system (BESS) in Staythorpe, Nottinghamshire, marking a significant step in the UK’s renewable energy infrastructure. Once operational in mid-2027, the 360MW/720MWh facility is expected to store enough electricity to power more than 95,000 homes for a full day.
