Renewable energy developer RES has secured planning approval for its proposed six-turbine Magheramore wind farm near Dungiven, Northern Ireland, following a successful appeal heard in April 2025.
The Planning Appeal Commission granted consent for the project three months after the hearing, RES said on Thursday.
“Magheramore has been carefully designed to fit sensitively into the existing landscape and we warmly welcome the decision today, which unlocks much needed investment in the local economy,” said Jennifer McCorry, RES project manager.
The company estimates the wind farm could contribute between £1.6 million and £2 million in economic benefits to the surrounding area during construction.
RES has been active in Northern Ireland’s renewable energy sector since the early 1990s and continues to operate from its Larne office.
