Swedish renewable energy company OX2 has acquired the Fageråsen wind farm project from developers Eolus and Dala Vind, the company said on Friday.
The project, located in the Dalarna region of central Sweden, is in a late stage of development and is expected to consist of up to 34 wind turbines across five designated areas. Once operational, the wind farm is projected to generate approximately 700 gigawatt hours (GWh) of electricity annually, equivalent to around 14% of Dalarna County’s total yearly electricity consumption.
The site lies within Sweden’s electricity price zone SE3 and has already received the necessary permits for construction.
OX2 stated it intends to complete construction and retain long-term ownership and operational responsibilities for the wind farm, which is expected to become fully operational by early 2028. The acquisition adds to OX2’s expanding portfolio of renewable energy assets in the region.
“This acquisition aligns with our strategy to accelerate access to renewable energy while strengthening our role as an owner of energy infrastructure,” said Emelie Zakrisson, OX2’s Country Manager for Sweden. “Eolus and Dala Vind have done a great job developing the project and guiding it through the permitting process. We now look forward to moving ahead and putting the shovel in the ground.
