Formosa 2 Offshore Wind Farm Inaugurated in Taiwan

A significant milestone was reached as an inauguration ceremony was held to mark the completion of the offshore , which boasts a capacity of 376MW. Situated off the coast of , the ceremony took place at the Waipu fishing port in Miaoli, symbolizing the successful construction of this noteworthy project.

The installation of the wind farm's 47 turbines, each with a capacity of 8MW, faced formidable weather conditions earlier this year. However, the project persevered and achieved grid connection in March. Notably, in April, the Formosa 2 wind farm operated at its maximum capacity of 376MW, generating an impressive output for the first time.

Formosa 2 is a collaborative effort among three major entities: JERA holds a 49% stake, Macquarie's Green Investment Group has a 26% stake, and Swancor Renewable Energy owns 25% of the project.
