Singapore-based mooring solutions provider Mooreast Holdings has signed a strategic framework agreement with Norwegian firm GeoProvider, aiming to enhance its capabilities in the floating offshore wind sector as the market moves toward commercialisation.
Under the agreement, Mooreast will gain access to GeoProvider’s geophysical and geotechnical database to support offshore data analysis, enabling the company to undertake larger and more technically complex projects. The collaboration will also include joint efforts on floating offshore wind developments globally.
“The agreement with GeoProvider reflects our strategy to build strong partnerships that add value to our clients and increase our capability to take on larger and more complex projects,” said Mooreast chief executive Eirik Ellingsen. “GeoProvider’s strong track record complements our core competencies as a mooring specialist, allowing us to better meet the demands of the global offshore market.”
Mooreast currently provides geotechnical and geophysical services, including soil data analysis for feasibility studies and mooring system design. It is also the only ultra-high power anchor manufacturer in Asia.
GeoProvider, based in Stavanger, Norway, specialises in geophysical and geotechnical data solutions for offshore wind, energy exploration and carbon capture projects. The company offers consultancy and engineering services for subsurface infrastructure development.
In a separate development, Mooreast has also signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Korea Ocean Engineering & Consultants Co Ltd (KOCECO) to explore joint opportunities in offshore mooring and seabed anchoring systems.
KOCECO, recognised by South Korea’s Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, is involved in submarine cable installation and underwater engineering. The agreement is expected to support Mooreast’s growth ambitions in the floating offshore wind market in North Asia, where the company aims to address regional supply chain gaps.
“The two agreements will significantly strengthen Mooreast’s global position and our commitment to our transformation to serve the renewable energy sector,” Ellingsen said. “Through these partnerships, we are now better equipped to deliver a comprehensive solution for the offshore sector.
