Renewable energy developer Qualitas Energy has secured permits for 43 wind turbines with a combined capacity of 275 megawatts (MW) in Germany during the first half of 2025, the company said on Thursday. It has also submitted applications for an additional 156 turbines, representing more than 1 gigawatt (GW) of potential capacity.
The company was recently awarded contracts for 19 wind turbines totaling 121.4 MW in Germany’s two latest onshore wind tenders.
Qualitas Energy stated it now has more than 100 wind projects in the final stages of development across the country, amounting to over 3 GW in potential output. Once operational, the portfolio is expected to provide electricity to more than two million households.
“These successes reflect the commitment of our team and the strength of our long-term commitment to the expansion of renewable energies in Germany,” said Johannes Overbeck, co-chief executive of Qualitas Energy Deutschland.
The company described its ongoing investment in wind development as part of a broader strategy focused on community engagement, environmental protection, and long-term value creation.
“At a time when it is more important than ever to increase renewable energy capacity, we are proud to deliver tangible results that support our national and European climate goals,” Overbeck added.
Qualitas Energy said the developments align with its goals of supporting Germany’s energy transition and expanding its renewable infrastructure footprint.
