Vestas has secured four new wind turbine orders in Germany totaling 175 megawatts (MW) from long-term customer Boreas Energie, the Danish turbine manufacturer said on Monday.
The orders, part of Vestas’s second-quarter intake, include the supply of V162-6.2MW EnVentus turbines in various configurations across several wind projects in the federal state of Thüringen.
For the Großvargula wind farm, Boreas Energie has ordered eight turbines in a 6.0MW operating mode, representing a total capacity of 48MW. The same model will be deployed at the Greußen and Bothenheilingen 1 wind farms, with seven turbines ordered for each site, equating to 42MW per project.
A fourth order, for the Bothenheilingen 2 site, includes three V162-6.2MW turbines and four in a 6.0MW mode, bringing the total to 43MW.
All contracts include 20-year service agreements. Turbine deliveries for the Großvargula, Greußen, and Bothenheilingen 1 projects are scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2026, with commissioning expected by the end of that year. For Bothenheilingen 2, delivery is set for the fourth quarter of 2026, with commissioning targeted for early 2027.
“These orders reflect the ongoing collaboration between Vestas and Boreas Energie and demonstrate continued demand for our EnVentus platform in the German market,” the company said in a statement.
Financial details of the contracts were not disclosed.
