German renewable energy developer Energiekontor has reached financial close on its 23-megawatt (MW) Nartum wind park in Lower Saxony, with construction set to begin in early 2026, the company said on Thursday.
The four-turbine project, awarded a feed-in tariff in Germany’s February 2025 EEG auction, is scheduled for commissioning in 2027. Once operational, Nartum will be incorporated into Energiekontor’s own portfolio.
The wind farm will use four Nordex N149 turbines, each with a capacity of 5.7 MW. The machines will feature hub heights of 164 metres and rotor diameters of 149 metres.
Energiekontor estimates the site will produce 66 gigawatt hours (GWh) of electricity annually, sufficient to supply power to over 20,000 households and offset more than 50,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions per year.
Grid connection will require replacement of an existing mast before linking to the high-voltage network via a nearby substation.
“Including this project, a total of eight wind and solar parks in Germany and France with a generation capacity of just over 200MW for our own portfolio are currently under construction or in preparation,” said chief executive Peter Szabo.
He added that the company is continuing to expand its portfolio “to make a lasting contribution to achieving climate targets as an independent power producer.
