Haesong Offshore Wind has signed a preferred supplier agreement (PSA) with South Korean manufacturer EEW KHPC for the provision of pin piles and casings for its Haesong Offshore Wind 1 and 3 projects, located in the Shinan region.
The components covered by the agreement are essential for anchoring jacket-type substructures used in offshore wind installations. Under the PSA, both companies will engage in technical collaboration until the final supply contract is concluded.
The 1 and 3 projects, each with a planned capacity of 500 megawatts, have received power generation permits and are currently undergoing environmental permitting. Haesong Offshore Wind is a project entity backed by Danish investment firm Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP).
“The partnership is expected to play a key role in enhancing the competitiveness and localisation of Korea’s offshore wind supply chain, contributing to a more sustainable and resilient industrial ecosystem,” Haesong Offshore Wind said in a statement.
The agreement follows a similar PSA signed last week with LS Marine for the transport and installation of subsea cables at the same project sites.
EEW KHPC, a key player in offshore wind foundation manufacturing, will work closely with Haesong Offshore Wind to finalise the technical and logistical details of the supply scope in preparation for execution.
The agreements form part of Haesong’s efforts to establish a reliable local supply chain and support South Korea’s broader offshore wind development targets.
